Skills and Diploma Recognition

Skills can come from various sources and experiences: formal, informal or non-formal. According to the Cedefop and the OECD, formal skills are acquired through structured learning in an educational institution and recognized by a certification. Informal skills are acquired from daily life activities related to work, family or leisure and are not certified. Non formal skills are in between formal and informal skills: they are acquired in structured learning situations, but do not lead to a certification.
