Access to the labour market

Access to the labour market is legislated for within Ireland for refugees and beneficiaries of subsidiary protection, whereas persons granted leave to remain need to apply for the right to work from the Minister for Justice and it is not an automatic right. In terms of labour market access, Ireland requires refugees to have access to employment related education activities, access to practical work placements and vocational training.
