Introduction

On this page you will find information and relevant links about the Dutch labour market, skills and diploma recognition, rules and regulations concerning work, initiatives and more.

In the Netherlands you are allowed to work when you have a residence permit. This also means that you can apply for vocational training or higher education and have your educational qualifications or your previous work experience validated. The IcDW (Information Centre for International Credential Evaluation) is responsible for the recognition of skills and diplomas. If you are still in the asylum procedure, you may engage in volunteer work. You are allowed to start working during your asylum procedure, if your decision takes six months or longer.
